JOYFUL WORK

Many employees have found themselves searching for joy in their work, especially with the pandemic continuing to grind along. Rebecca Newton, Ph.D, in her article Rediscover Joy at Work in the Harvard Business Review, she has observed four root causes of this lack of joy for employees.

Burn out, feeling inauthentic, not being able to play to strengths, and perceived social isolation have all contributed to the struggles that employees are facing in their day to day work life.

Joy at work is not an idle need, as research has shown that joy is an emotional response and outlook that is vital to well-being, cognitive functioning and overall performance.

Ripple Changemakers will teach employees and business leaders to find the joy in their work through programs that help discover strengths, such as courage, humility, creativity and curiosity, and use those strengths to find ways to energize and revitalize themselves.
